Terms of service
1. What Werkza is
Werkza is a directory that connects homeowners with local home-service professionals (“pros”). We are not the pro. The pro is the contractor performing your work and is responsible for the services provided.
2. Who can use Werkza
You must be at least 18, live in or own property in our service area, and provide accurate information when you sign up.
3. Pros' obligations
Pros agree to maintain valid licenses where required, carry appropriate insurance, complete a background check, respond to homeowner messages, show up on time, and honor quoted prices. Werkza never charges a pro for a lead, a contact, a message, or a job won — a pro’s only cost is the flat membership described in §5.
4. Homeowners' obligations
You agree to describe work accurately, provide safe property access, communicate respectfully, and pay the pro you hire directly — Werkza does not process payments and is not party to any transaction between you and a pro.
5. Fees and membership
Werkza is free for homeowners — no booking fees, no platform fees, no surcharge on the price your pro quotes. Pros pay a flat monthly membership of $200 to list their storefront; messaging homeowners is included, and we never take a per-lead fee or a commission on the work itself. Membership is waived during the launch period, and we will give pros clear notice before any charge begins.
6. Reviews and trust
A review unlocks only after a booking the pro and homeowner both confirmed on Werkza, once the appointment’s time has passed — so a review always reflects a real, scheduled job. Verification badges (license, insurance, registered business) are checked by us and cannot be purchased.
7. Acceptable use
No discrimination, harassment, fraud, fake reviews, or attempts to game ranking or badges. Pros must honor the prices they quote homeowners. Accounts that violate these terms get suspended without notice.
8. Limitation of liability
Werkza is a directory and messaging platform, not a contractor and not a party to the work itself. We make no warranty on the workmanship of any specific job, and we do not hold, transmit, or refund any money exchanged between homeowner and pro. Our maximum liability is capped at the greater of membership fees paid to us in the prior twelve months and $200 (counsel-final language pending).
9. Changes
We may update these terms; significant changes are emailed in advance. Continued use after the effective date means you agree.
